Pinfall

PinfallBowling Score Keeper

The bowling score tracker for league night.

Tap the pins that are still standing and Pinfall keeps the score, your average and your strike and spare percentage. That part is free. Pinfall Pro, a single purchase, adds every leave, league handicap and more bowlers. There is no account to make.

Android 8 or later, and iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. In English, Dutch and German.

Pinfall on iPad: score sheet on top, this game against the usual one with a chart, and large pins.
Scoring screen in Pinfall: frame 7, pins 7 and 10 marked, the button reads Enter 7-10.

Tap what is left standing.

After your first ball, tap the pins that are left. Hold and slide to mark a few at once. The big button always says what it is about to enter, like Enter 7-10, so a wrong tap gets caught before it counts.

Made a mistake three frames ago? Tap that frame on the score sheet and enter it again. The rest of the game stays where it was. Rather type a count, or only the final score? Both work, and all three can be mixed in one game.

Try it: tap the pins you would have left.

Still standing: 7-10

Split

Enter 7-10

Splits follow the USBC rule: headpin down and the standing pins in separate groups. The app uses the same check.

New in 1.1

Share the night. Track your line.

Four new things in Pinfall 1.1, on iPhone, iPad and Android.

The night as one card in Pinfall: series 549, average, and each game with its frames and leaves.
Scoring in Pinfall with the line for this ball: feet 24, target 9, breakpoint 7, and how the ball hit: high.

The whole night, one card

Series, average and every game with its frames and leaves on one card. Send it to the team chat in one tap.

Your line on every ball

Feet, target and breakpoint for each first ball, carried over to the next, so you only tap when you move. Mark how the ball hit: high, pocket, light or Brooklyn. Strikes per line are part of Pinfall Pro.

Light or dark

Choose in More, Appearance. Dark is easy on the eyes in a dim bowling alley.

What Pinfall shows you.

Which spares cost you pinsPart of Pinfall Pro

Every leave you face is kept, with how often you convert it. Sort by how often it comes up, or by how hard it is for you. Splits and washouts are counted on their own, so one 7-10 does not drag down your single pins.

All leaves in Pinfall, each with how often it was converted.

How this game compares

Once you have three complete games, Pinfall holds the game you are bowling against your usual one, frame by frame, using up to your last 30 games. From the first frame you see whether you are ahead, and what that puts you on pace for.

Your season, night by night

Each league night shows your series, the average you started with, your handicap and the points you won. The season adds it all up, and your high series with handicap is right there.

Stats you can checkPart of Pinfall Pro

Average, high game and series, strike and spare percentage, clean games, and your average if you had made every single pin. Every number has a plain definition in the app, so you know how it was counted.

Strikes, doubles and turkeys

Three strikes in a row and the screen says so, with a tap you feel in your hand. A Double, a Hambone, a clean game and a new high game each get their own moment.

Handicap, points and no-tap, the way your league counts them.

Set up your league once: games per night, 9-pin or 8-pin no-tap, and the handicap formula with basis, percentage and maximum. Pinfall uses your book average until you have bowled enough games, then your own league average. Averages are truncated, not rounded, as leagues do. No-tap games stay out of your regular average and records.

League handicap is part of Pinfall Pro.

How Pinfall is made.

Keeping your own scores should not need a monthly fee or an account. In Pinfall, entering games is free for good, your games stay in your own iCloud or Google backup, and the extras are one purchase you make once.

The score follows the USBC rules, fouls, no-tap and the tenth frame included. The scoring is tested against every possible pin combination and tens of thousands of games checked by a separate reference, so a number in Pinfall is one you can trust.

Blockbrewer, the Netherlands

Where your games are kept.

No account

Nothing to sign up for and no password to forget. Open the app, type your name, bowl.

Your own iCloud or Google backup

On iPhone and iPad, games sync through your private iCloud. On Android, they are part of your phone's backup in your Google Account. We cannot see either. On a new phone with the same account, they come back.

Works offline

No signal behind lane 24? Scoring works anyway. It works in every bowling center, whatever scoring system it runs.

Backup and CSV

Save a full backup file whenever you like, or export every game to CSV for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. A backup file from Android opens on iPhone, and the other way round.

Coming from PinPal

Import your PinPal backup on iPhone, iPad or Android. Every game is scored again, you see a preview first, and the import can be undone. It is built on PinPal's file format; if yours does not come through right, email us and we will fix it.

No tracking

No analytics, no ads, no tracking. The App Store label says Data Not Collected; on Google Play it lists the purchase record that Google Play keeps for Pinfall Pro and the diagnostics of the text recognition that reads a photo of the lane screen.

Free to use. Pro is one purchase.

All questions and answers

How do I enter a game?

Tap + to start a session, then tap the pins that are still standing after each ball (hold and slide to mark several at once). Nothing standing? Tap Strike or Spare. You can also enter pin counts, or only the final score.

Can I bring my PinPal history?

Yes, on iPhone, iPad and Android. In PinPal, open Settings, Backup, and save the file to Files, or send it to your Android phone, for example by email or Google Drive. In Pinfall, open More, Import from PinPal, and choose the file. Pinfall re-scores every game; a game whose frames cannot be read exactly is added with its final score, so no score changes. Importing again later only adds what is missing.

What does Pinfall Pro add, and is it a subscription?

Pro is a single purchase, not a subscription. In the App Store it is shared with your Family Sharing group. It adds several bowler profiles, every statistic, the average trend and league handicap. Entering games, your average and highs, strike and spare percentage, sync and backups are always free.

How do my games get to a new phone or tablet?

On iPhone and iPad, Pinfall syncs through your own iCloud. Sign in with the same Apple Account on both devices and make sure iCloud is turned on for Pinfall in Settings. Your games appear by themselves, usually within a minute. If you created a second profile before your data arrived, merge the two in More, Bowlers. On Android, your games are part of your phone's backup in your Google Account: restore that backup when you set up the new phone. Moving between iPhone and Android? Save a backup file in More, Backup and restore, and open it on the other phone.
